Before asking the foster homes about these dogs, you must be an approved adoptive family! While we appreciate your enthusiasm, we just may not be able to respond to every email about one of the dogs unless you are approved. And, in general, we adopt only to our area (within reach of our home visit volunteers).

Farley 2-1/2 yr old male

Every so often we come across a special kind of Golden that needs a unique home to match his special set of needs. Farley is the perfect Golden for someone who wants a low-key, loving companion. He would be great in a low energy environment. He is one of the ever-growing number of family pets that lost their loving home due to the economy.

Farley has all the heart of a 2 year old Golden minus 90 percent of the exuberance. He makes these funny sounds that take on the sounds of different animals like a "lion roar" for one. Yesterday he actually sounded like he said the word "noooo". He gives us a giggle when he talks because he doesn't always sound like a dog. You will never have to go looking for him because he will always be with you...so close you will want to wear shoes because both of you will be walking on your feet.

When he wants a pet he just rests his head on your lap. We just love him here...he has a slow way that wears real easy on you. He appears to get along with all other dogs and we have had several extras here at the house for him to try out. He has especially liked all of the people that have brought the extra dogs.

If you have cats... that’s a plus with this guy. He likes cats! Farley is housebroken and has only been gated not crated in his foster homes. He is mastering his leash skills and we are uncertain if he will ever willingly get into a vehicle. He does better with sedans and vans. It will be necessary to pick him up and put him in an SUV.

If you are looking for a joyful, animated Golden....With Farley you will get that exactly 2 times a day....8 am breakfast and 5 pm diner. If you are looking for a playful dog for you and your children....all will be disappointed. If you have kind and gentle dogs that would like one more kind and gentle dog for some play and allot of just calmly hanging around together .... Farley would make a nice addition.
