Jesse, one of the PM puppies, adopted by the Pattee family

Update from his new mom:  Remember how I told you Jesse was giving serious thought to climbing up in the fort attached to the swingset? He finally did it this week. It's no fluke, either. He makes it look effortless. To get down he steps onto the top couple of steps (there are 5 or 6 extending out at an angle) and then jumps. The payoff is good for him because Michael and Caroline leave toys up there. I looked out earlier and he had a Barbie hanging out of his mouth. After I got that from him he went back for Ken.

Jesse's retrieving instincts are pretty strong. Our dining room table is one big mound of junk mail. Jesse is slowly relocating that to the kitchen table. When he takes it from the dining room he delivers it to me about half the time. the other half I have to call him to me or sneak up on him.

I forgot to tell you about Jesse's tree pruning skills. We have a young Bradford pear in our backyard. He likes to stretch up tall and strip out branches. I heard you're supposed to do that to these trees anyway. He likes to earn his keep!
